They didn't name the name Guild Wars for no reason, people are were meant to be in guilds in this game and do cool stuff... like killing...

alright I see your point, but you cant ignore the loss of unity in a guild if you let this happen. At the very least, maybe a smaller insignia of the guild in the corner with the rest being your own design. But its just not the same. I'll be wishing we had this, though, when my guild makes another horrendous cape design XD

What unity does a cape bring a guild? People don't wear the capes because they suck, and no matter how good the cape is, it isn't going to match an entire group of players and all of their characters.

What is the point of fancy armor if it all does the same thing? Appearance obviously. Assuming that a lack of function makes self customized and new types of capes inappropriate is exactly the same as assuming that the look of your armor doesn't really matter, only the benifits it grants.

Obviously, that is false, the look is very important, which is why people are willing to pay 10 times as much in Plat and materials just to look nice, it is so important that there are dozens of new armors in every chapter, look is more important than association, which is why all these weak, lame capes are being removed just so people can enjoy their characters appearance without a crappy, unmatched, shared guild cape.

I can agree, a shared insignia should still be implemented on each cape, and perhaps even mandantory in PvP, even though it doesn't really amount to a hill of beans. Even in PvP, when it is forced on you, the colors are replaced with red or blue, and all that really shows is the symbol.

Customizable appearance is far more important, and without that option, powerful appearance options like wearing a cape become a wasted option since the most popular option is to remove such unmatching, poorly customizable, and bland cape designs.

^^What I did. But the only reason I made my 1-man guild was so Id stop getting invites. Got REALLY tired of "You want to join my guild?" "You really need a guild", ect. Have no interest in most of the things other guilds do, like Alliances, PvP, whatever. Am very happy by myself.

I see lots of people in guilds with capes on, alot more than without. Cant even tell you of one time Ive deen a guild member without a cape.

Appearance dont mean a damn thing to me, Im all about functionality. Ive said before, if it gave +20 more armor than Droks, Id wear a clown suit. Appearance is fine, but if pre collector armor was considered best looking by far, would you wear it in Kryta? Or Maguuma?
The reason theres new armor with new chapters isnt that it looks better, but that its appropriate to the area, like the asiatic influence in Canthan armors.
"Weak" and "lame" are subjective, maybe the ones you hate are liked by some(see Ideas thread for examples of what one person likes, as opposed to others who dont like it).
More important than what? "Powerful appearance option"? Since when does that a powerful appearance have any effect in-game?
